  • Recently completed Professional Experience Year with IBM Canada as a Database Performance Analyst
  • Served as VP VCG for 2 years, acting as liaison between the VCG teams, Industry Advisers and local non-profit organizations
  • Three years ago, Daniela was involved with a VCG team to develop marketing strategies for, that entailed creating different website plans to attract more membership and maintain a constant source of sustainable income
  • Past work experience includes being an Engineering Assistant for a design engineering company and researching Internet security with a university professor
  • Hobbies include soccer, tennis, reading, and occasional gaming

  • Previously served as Vice President Marketing and Vice President Internal, directing the Business Case Competition
  • In her first year, was involved with UTCA as a volunteer consultant for Volunteer Consulting Group and helped rejuvenate Vaughan Youth Cabinet, a youth activism organization
  • Her work experiences include Tax Analst with Deloitte, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Royal Bank of Canada and various volunteer positions
  • Enjoys reading, traveling, and table tennis

Terry Ng

  • Last year, served as a Volunteer Consultant with the VCG team aimed at
    expanding the Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s demographic reach in the GTA
  • Work experiences include working at Canadian Tire as a Logistics Analyst, Coca-Cola as a Supply Chain Associate, AMA Inc. as a Systems Engineer and an extended contract role of Corporate Wireless Instructor for clients including the Department of National Defence, Canada Post, and York University
  • Hobbies include martial arts, badminton, salsa, foosball, and mentoring/tutoring

Maria Zou
VP Internal
  • 4th Year student specializing in Actuarial Science, majoring in Statistics, and minoring in Economics
  • Work experiences include internship at CIGNA Corporation, China Pacific Insurance Co. Ltd. and various volunteer positions
  • Interested in drawing, painting, playing Zheng (a traditional Chinese Instrument), and travelling.

Amanda Amaral
VP Volunteer Consulting Group
  • 3rd year Economics and Psychology student with a particular interest in financial economics
  • Has served as the VP VCG since 2010, mainly acting as a liaison between
    the VCG teams and local non-profit organizations
  • Amanda is currently working as a research assistant at the University of Toronto conducting research in the area of personality psychology to investigate the psychology of ideological and cultural belief systems as well as political orientation under the supervision of Dr. Jordan Peterson
  • Her previous work experience includes placements in customer service and sales industries such as HBC’s the Bay, Bell Mobility, and Best Buy
  • In her spare time, Amanda likes to spend time with family and friends.

Amanda Wai
VP Volunteer Consulting Group
  • 3rd year Materials Science & Engineering Student, minoring in Engineering Business
  • Last year served as a VCG Consultant on the team that engaged the Canadian National Institute for the Blind to develop a strategy to expand their demographic reach in the GTA
  • Currently a Director and Cross-Faculty Rep of the Leaders of Tomorrow group offering leadership development to engineering students
  • Work experiences include working abroad in Hong Kong at ARUP (global engineering consulting and design firm) and at the University of Toronto as a Research Assistant
  • Paddles on the Iron Dragons engineering dragonboat team and also enjoys playing golf and tennis, listening to jazz music and being active in the student community; Interested in management consulting

Saifu Li
VP Marketing
  • Currently an Analyst at Deloitte in Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) for a 13-month PEY placement.
  • Finished 3 years in the Industrial Engineering program
  • Completed Engineering Summer Internship Program (ESIP) as a Quality Assurance Analyst at NexJ Systems Inc. – a leading provider of people-oriented enterprise solutions
  • Saifu has taken leadership roles in the U of T Engineering Society as a Class Representative (2008-2010) and as the Professional Director for the Industrial Engineering Club (2010-2011)
  • As the Curriculum Enhancement Director for Engineers Without Borders, Saifu has organized seminars, workshops, and design projects to raise student awareness about international development issues in Africa
  • Saifu has received a Certificate for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Small Business Management for completing a series of entrepreneurship and business management courses
  • He enjoys skydiving, basketball, daily exercise, and home cooking

Ian Xuan Xiao
VP Marketing
  • Currently working as a Program/Project Manager co-op at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)
  • Completed his 3rd year in Electrical and Computer Engineering and pursuing a minor in engineering business at University of Toronto
  • Ian’s work experience involves positions as intern at a electric power infrastructure design company in China, undergraduate research student
    at a photovoltaic device laboratory at U of T, designer in the power system team at BlueSky Solar Racing Car, and part time student librarian at U of T Robarts Library IT Department
  • He has been actively participating in many leadership positions such as VP Finance and Sport Director at Chinese Engineering Student Association and Chair of Club’s Day in the Engineering Orientation 2010
  • Ian has a very wide range of career interests, especially in management and technical consulting
  • In his spare time, Ian enjoys playing basketball and golf, visiting different coffee shops and galleries with friends, and playing saxophone

Natalia Mykhaylova VP Education
  • 3rd year Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry PhD student, currently involved in developing novel sensor-based technologies and networks for emissions tracking and air quality assessment
  • Serves as VP Education, in charge of developing the resume book and facilitating UTCA Practice Case Interview Series
  • A year ago, Natalia was involved with a VCG team to develop social impact metrics
    to aid national non-profit Tides Canada in optimizing their operations and telling their story in a new and more effective way
  • Past work experience include pharmaceutical R&D, Library IT and teaching positions at University of Toronto
  • Passionate about many things, especially design, entrepreneurship, competitions, traveling, reading

Xiao (Sean) Guo
VP Education
  • Currently, designing a medical diagnostic device for Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and Biochemistry (2nd yr)
  • Completed Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Immunology and Earth/Planetary Science at McGill
  • Worked at University of Saskatchewan, McGill University, Agriculture and Agri Food Canada, and Prairie Tide Chemicals Inc. (start-up company), with the responsibilities of project design, data analysis, result presentation, web design, and business plan development
  • Leadership experiences include organizing communication workshops for Leaders of Tomorrow Graduate, hosting social events for Biomedical Engineering Student Association, and coordinating volunteers for McGill Walksafe
  • Volunteered as helpdesk rep for McGill Computer Task force, tour guide for Redpath Museum, and student-teacher for Let’s Talk Science
