Kristen will be entering her second year of studies at U of T in September 2016, majoring in Economics and Public Policy. As Director of Marketing this year, Kristen’s responsibilities include developing an online marketing scheme, designing promotional materials for UTCA, managing web-based administrative operations, and maintaining an active and aware social media presence on behalf of the association.
Her first experience with marketing occurred in high school, where she acted as VP Marketing for a Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta company, and successfully designed a marketing scheme and business plan that allowed her company to finish top in revenue in Calgary that year, with a 250% return on investment. Since then, she has taken the initiative to pursue marketing seriously as a career, and is self-taught in Photoshop, video editing, and website design. She hopes to also potentially pursue consulting in the future, seeing it as a way to combine creative problem solving with specialized expertise, and to explore more diverse avenues of interest. Her other interests include debate, Model U.N., learning languages, and posting poorly filtered Instagram photos.
