How to get involved


   Volunteer Consultants


Volunteer Consultants, current undergraduate and graduate students, will assist with all aspects of client engagements and are responsible for supporting the team through their personal contributions of ideas and tasks. They are expected to attend and participate in team meetings as well as fulfill any responsibilities assigned to them, which may include but are not limited to the following:

  • – Client research, including market and competitive analysis
  • – Interviews with client stakeholders, to increase understanding of issues
  • – Internet research
  • – Financial modeling and projections for business plans
  • – Synthesizing and reporting key findings to the team and client stakeholders

   Volunteer Engagement Managers (MBA)


Volunteer Engagement Managers are responsible for providing the team with leadership guidance throughout the course of the client engagement. They are expected to perform the same tasks as the Volunteer Consultants but with the additional responsibility of managing the team. Responsibilities assigned to them include, but are not limited to the following:

  • – Developing frameworks for analysis
  • – Guiding and mentoring team members through process
  • – Reviewing analysis and providing feedback
  • – Facilitating discussion and problem-solving
  • – Assisting in research, analysis, and client management

Clients


Over the past 12 years, VCG has worked with clients such as Documentary Organization of Canada, Youth Science Foundation, JUMP tutoring and Mainstay Housing, conducting situational assessments and making general recommendations for the organizations. Specific projects have included comparative and structural analysis of organizations, expansions strategies which allowed the clients to provide their services to a wider community, and fundraising initiative recommendations.



Advisors


Our industry advisors work closely with VCG executives to aim at improving VCG on a continuous basis. Industry advisors are available as a general resource for all participants of VCG, including all undergraduate, graduate, and MBA.
