David Woloviec


DG Volo & Co. Limited

David is currently a consultant at DG Volo & Co. Limited. He was formerly an Associate Partner at the Toronto office for Oliver Wyman. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A.Sc. in Industrial Engineering in 1997, and joined Mercer, now Oliver Wyman, in 2005. Since joining Oliver Wyman, David has been working with clients in the healthcare and pharmaceutical distribution industries, focusing on new growth strategies and the development of efficient sales channels to support these strategies. Before joining Oliver Wyman,  David was the founder and manager of a series of start-up businesses, including a promotional products distribution business, which held contracts with various university bookstores across Ontario.

Alvin Chick


Deloitte Consulting – Strategy & Operations

Al is a Consultant within Deloitte Consulting’s Corporate Strategy practice. Al graduated from the Industrial Engineering program at the University of Toronto in 2008. Since joining Deloitte Consulting, Al has worked in Retail Banking, Telecom, Insurance, and Transportation to formulate pricing strategies, reengineer business processes, execute a post-merger integration, and develop operating models. Al has served as President of the University of Toronto Consulting Association (UTCA) and has also acted as a VCG Subject Matter Expert. This year, Al looks forward to continuing to support the pro-bono consulting program and a new student team as a Lead Advisor for a CNIB project. In his spare time, Al enjoys watching movies, reading novels, playing sports, and travelling to exotic destinations.

Omar Shaheen


Bain & Company

Omar Shaheen is a Consultant at Bain & Company. Omar has been involved with VCG in the past before, having served as an Engagement Manager for a VCG team during the 2007 – 2008 school year. He had a great time while participating in VCG and is very excited to be able to come back and contribute as a Lead Advisor this year. Omar holds an MBA degree from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management and a Honours Bachelor Degree in Administrative Studies from York University.

Jeremy Joe



Jeremy Joe is a Consultant in the Technology practice at Capco. Jeremy has over 5 years of business and technology consulting experience, with a focus on Business Analysis and Project Management. He has industry experience in retail e-commerce, energy services, and a specialization in Financial Services. His past project experiences include business process re-engineering, IT strategy, vendor selection/management, and enterprise systems design/implementation. Prior to Capco, Jeremy worked at Sapient as a Senior Associate in Program Management. He holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Toronto, and participated in the 2005 VCG project for the Canadian Cancer Society as a student consultant.

Darren Lafreniere


Ivey Consulting Project

Darren Lafreniere is the Director of the Ivey Consulting Project and a Lecturer at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. He is also the owner of Final Round Prep, a company that provides professional recruiting support – including cover letter / resume, behavioural, case interview and networking training – to students who wish to pursue careers in the Management Consulting industry.

Prior to his current roles, Darren gained a wealth of experience in both the entrepreneurial and corporate environments; he sold high performance aftermarket parts to customers across North America as the owner/operator of an auto parts company, and worked in the Management Consulting industry with A.T. Kearney consulting clients across 7 major industries on various strategic issues including logistics optimization, organizational restructuring and operational cost reduction. Outside of work, Darren enjoys volunteering his time with non-profit consulting groups and enjoys online video games, rollerblading, and playing the guitar.

Darren has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and a BA from the University of Manitoba.
